Fire drill

The fire alarm points on the pontoons are checked once a month. During this procedure the alarm sounds for 5 seconds. In an emergency, the alarm sounds continuously.

In case of fire on board

  1. Sound the alarm by pressing the alarm button on one of the red fire poles located on the main pontoon walkway.
  2. Clear the area of people.
  3. Call 999.
  4. Only tackle the fire if it is safe to do so, with the extinguishers provided in the emergency cabinets.
  5. Retreat to a safe distance upwind (DO NOT RUN).
  6. Do not obstruct bridge - emergency services will need clear access.
  7. Follow the marina staff's instructions.
  8. Do not return to the vessel until the all-clear has been given.

In case of fire at the marina

  1. Evacuate the pontoons immediately and make your way to the fire assembly point. DO NOT RUN.
  2. Do not obstruct the bridge.
  3. Follow the marina staff's instructions.
