Fire drill
The fire alarm points on the pontoons are checked once a month. During this procedure the alarm sounds for 5 seconds. In an emergency, the alarm sounds continuously.
In case of fire on board
- Sound the alarm by pressing the alarm button on one of the red fire poles located on the main pontoon walkway.
- Clear the area of people.
- Call 999.
- Only tackle the fire if it is safe to do so, with the extinguishers provided in the emergency cabinets.
- Retreat to a safe distance upwind (DO NOT RUN).
- Do not obstruct bridge - emergency services will need clear access.
- Follow the marina staff's instructions.
- Do not return to the vessel until the all-clear has been given.
In case of fire at the marina
- Evacuate the pontoons immediately and make your way to the fire assembly point. DO NOT RUN.
- Do not obstruct the bridge.
- Follow the marina staff's instructions.
